Correcting Uneven Skin Tone in Men

Let’s face it guys, you’re a little rough on your skin. From daily shaving to exposure to the elements when you’re hiking, biking, or skiing – your face takes the brunt of age-related damage.

This can lead to uneven skin tone which contributes to appearing older than you feel. Sun damage and skin conditions can lead to dark age spots, redness, and discoloration. Thankfully, there are several options available when correcting uneven skin tone in men.

      Men’s Skin Care Treatments

Forever Young Broad Band Light (BBL) Therapy

Forever Young BBL treatments shed light on correcting uneven skin tone in men. BBL treatments use infrared and visible light to gently heat the outermost layers of skin. The stimulation caused by heat encourages collagen and healthy skin cell production.

After BBL treatments, the treated areas may become reddened and after a week or two, discoloration will slough as healthy, new skin cells and collagen make their way to the surface.

The result is smoother appearing skin and improved skin tone. Blotchiness, redness, and age spots (liver spots) are all reduced with BBL treatments. Treatments are non-invasive with little downtime. Full results are seen after 1-2 weeks.

      Aerolase LightPod Neo

Aerolase LightPod Neo treatments correct skin tone and texture by using a high-power laser to heat the skin and stimulate healthy skin regeneration. Compared to other laser treatments, Aerolase treatments can penetrate deep within the dermis to stimulate collagen and treat melanin in the skin, resulting in smoother skin, tighter pores and improvement of pigment.

Aerolase treatments also kill bacteria deep within the skin, addressing acne and other inflammatory related skin conditions such as rosacea. Skin becomes brighter and rejuvenated after this noninvasive treatment. There’s also minimal downtime after Aerolase treatments.

      Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a great therapy for turning back the hands of time (and uneven skin) with customized treatments. Meredith is a PCA Certified Professional and has had extensive training in creating personalized chemical peel treatments to rejuvenate skin and correct uneven skin tone.

Chemical peels are typically paired with other skin rejuvenation treatments like microneedling or the Aerolase NeoSkin treatments. These treatments work together to stimulate collagen production and restore dull and lifeless skin.

      Halo Hybrid Laser

The Halo hybrid fractional laser provides two powerful laser treatments into one. The ablative laser penetrates deeply into the layers of skin, targeting microscopic pathways. The non-ablative laser creates micro perforations in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

By using innovative technology and digital monitoring, a Halo laser treatment brings uniform and consistent therapy throughout your treatment. Pigment changes caused by sun damage, wrinkles, pores, rosacea, spider veins, and unwanted freckles can all be treated and made less noticeable with Halo treatments.

      Microneedling with PRF

Microneedling is a proven therapy used to stimulate collagen and elastin production. At New Life Aesthetics, Meredith uses the award-winning Collagen Pin to create micro trauma to the skin with 36 micro-needles. After a microneedling treatment there may be some redness and irritation, but this typically resolves within a day or two.

Microneedling helps stimulate collagen and its effects are enhanced when used with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). PRF therapy involves taking your own cells and using them to stimulate new cell growth. After a simple blood draw, your cells are separated and PRF is isolated. PRF contains growth factors which help encourage collagen, elastin,

      and healthy cell growth.

PRF is applied topically to the skin after a microneedling treatment to further increase microneedling benefits. PRF can also decrease healing time after a microneedling treatment.

      Vivace RF Microneedling

In addition to using PRF, microneedling treatments can be enhanced with radiofrequency (RF) energy to address uneven skin tone and tighten skin. Meredith uses this technology during Vivace RF microneedling treatments which use radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production.

These minimally invasive radiofrequency treatments combined with microneedling can reduce hyperpigmentation and enhance overall skin appearance. Skin texture and tone is improved almost immediately after Vivace RF microneedling treatments.

Compared to many skin tone treatments, a Vivace RF microneedling treatment requires no downtime. You can get back to your busy schedule free from restrictions.
