Before your treatment session, we will spend time reviewing any medications you’re taking, as well as answering any particular questions you may have.
Your appointment will last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour – depending on the treatment method chosen. Anesthesia is generally not used during these procedures.
If you have a history of recent illness or vaccines, chronic immune dysfunction, or have had dental cleanings or work done by a dentist recently, immune reactions could present added risk to your procedure. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after your treatment. It is best to avoid applying makeup or skincare products as well as rubbing or massaging the area treated until the next day.
You may experience a mild to moderate amount of aching sensation post injection, especially over boney areas. Temporary swelling can be expected, which dissipates in the days following injections. Bruising at the site of injection is a commonly reported side effect. Post-procedure relief options will be discussed with your provider.
