The neurotoxin contained in BOTOX blocks nerve signals to the platysma muscles, preventing them from contracting. When you inject Botox into the platysma muscles, the muscle activity is temporarily reduced, which in turn softens the appearance of the Platysmal Bands.

After Platysmal Botox, it’s best to avoid lying down or bending over for the first few hours to ensure Botox remains in the targeted area and to minimize potential side effects like bruising or swelling. You should also minimize strenuous exercise and avoid putting any pressure on your neck.
Limit exposure to sun, heat, smoking and alcoholic beverages, and avoid hot baths, saunas, or hot tubs within the first 24 hours after treatment.
It is also best to avoid applying makeup or skincare products, or rubbing or massaging the area treated, until the next day to prevent the Botox from migrating to unintended muscles.
Avoid any other cosmetic procedures in the same area for at least two weeks - and refer to any pre- and post-care instructions provided by your aesthetic nurse.
You may begin to see progressive, visible results as early as 48 hours, and continuously for the first couple of weeks. Individual results and treatment sessions may vary. Results can last for up to six months. You will have to repeat your treatments to maintain your results.
