A few suggestions before you arrive at our office: Stay hydrated and try to avoid direct sun exposure for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. Be sure to discontinue the use of retinoids and harsh exfoliants but continue a healthy skincare routine.
Your Sciton Halo Tribrid Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment session will be provided in our New Life Aesthetics office. Your appointment will begin with numbing medication applied to your skin in the treatment areas. After about an hour, your skin will be cleaned thoroughly and we will make sure that all of your questions have been answered. Before each of your treatment sessions, we will spend time reviewing any medications you’re taking. Your treatment time will be 30-60 minutes.
During treatment, motion-tracking technology measures the area to ensure uniform results and even coverage. As the Halo Tribrid handpiece glides over your skin, integrated cooling works to reduce any heat you may feel during the treatment. To minimize any discomfort, each session will begin with a topical numbing cream.
When your treatment is over, it is completely normal for the treated area to feel warm for up to an hour, sometimes longer with more intensive sessions, before gradually subsiding.
Right after your session, you may feel like you have a mild sunburn. Your skin could feel tight with perhaps some redness and swelling. On the second or third day, you may notice a bronzed, sandpaper-like texture as tiny MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) rise to the surface of your skin and flake away by day four or five, revealing fresh, renewed skin beneath.
